FREE MAIL: Letters From Soldiers
How are you? I am pretty good. Thank you so much for the package. You don’t know how much it helps……. SPC J.C.
Thank you so much for the fantastic letter I recently received. It is always nice to have mail over here and I’m certain that we all have the same feelings when see a package with our name on it. Speaking of packages, that was an outstanding care package that you put together. I am very impressed by your creativity and dedication to our soldiers……. CPT. S.M.
Hello. Thank you for the card and letter. I must say your dogs are very cute. It is great to hear that people really do care about those of us over here……. PFC C.J.
Hi. I wanted to write you back and than you for taking the time to send me a letter and package. I am one of those people who have not gotten anything from back home so your letters help a lot. I appreciate your doing this for me… I’d love some cookies and brownies with nuts - if you have time… SrA A.P.
My wife is also deployed; it was her idea to sign me up for letters. At first I thought others needed the letters more than me, but it has turned out to be a nice thing when I get a letter from someone who cares. I always thought people didn’t think so highly of us, so…Thanks again for all your support. R.S.
I received the box and card - thank you! It is very comforting to know there are still wonderful, patriotic, supporting Americans like you out there. God Bless You. God Bless your group, Gathering 4 Soldiers. D.F.
FROM A SOLDIER WHO HAS RETURNED TO THE STATES
It has been a long, long journey, 15 months to be exact. As much as I hate to admit it, this is a bittersweet ending to a nightmare I have been trying to wake up from for the last year. Bitter because I have developed a compassion for the good people of Iraq and I know there is much more that I could do to help their situation. Walking away at this stage of my deployment is bitter because I feel I am leaving something unaccomplished. This ending is sweet for the obvious reasons that I will be coming back to lovely America. This deployment has showed me that there is so much more left to do in life and to be grateful that I made it out of this catastrophe. I want to honor the memory of my friends, comrades, and brothers who lost their life fighting for this noble cause. I say noble because that is what each and every soldier here is fighting for. Politics aside, this is a noble mission because we are trying to right wrongs and rebuild a nation. I can think of very few other noble causes.
I want to thank you form the bottom of my heart for all the support and encouragement throughout my deployment. It is because of your patriotic values that I was able to achieve anything here. Without support from home, soldiers like me will forget what we are fighting for. You sustain our forces with your selfless efforts. I know I didn’t get a chance to write back in a timely manner, but charge it to my head not my heart. Just know that all of us “over here” love your mail and appreciate it. Its actually amazing I was able to lose weight while I was over here with all the candy, cookies, and beef jerky I scarfed down. I am so thankful for the little tastes of home that you sent. Thank for inviting me into your life. You guys have truly been there for me when I didn’t even know I needed someone.
The words Thank you and I appreciate all you have done seem very cheap when I think of how I should express my true gratitude for your tireless efforts. You are the soldiers behind the soldiers!
……. Thanks again for your continued support and for being there for me. I could not have done this without you. It truly took an entire village to support one soldier!! :) SGT.T.M.
