Support the Troops
Who in this day and age hasn’t heard that slogan? Who hasn’t seen the yellow ribbons on doors and trees and on the back of SUVs? What exactly does “support” consist of, though? Some would think supporting the troops means supporting the war; others believe supporting the troops means ending the war and bringing the troops home.
We like to think supporting the troops means writing a card or letter of encouragement, support or humor or sending care packages containing the simplest of things to make a soldier’s life a little easier, or their surroundings a little more like home. By working together and sharing a common vision of service, the volunteers of Gathering 4 Soldiers will send support and love to our deployed soldiers.
This website has been set up for soldiers who want mail, to share letters we have received from soldiers, offer suggestions on what to include in care packages, introduce you to our group of volunteers who give so much of themselves to this cause and, among other things, to share information with each other. G4S sent 202 Christmas packages to our soldiers serving overseas during the holiday season. From May until December 2007, we shipped over 5000 lbs. of goods to our men and women serving in the military. Won’t you help us make 2008 even greater?
